Key West, A Visual Tale
Created by Matthew Dockery (me) and Robin Medearis (local photographer/videographer), we produced this short video as a display of our appreciation for this lovely little colorful community of Key West FL. Lots of timelapse and a general sense of surrealism, this video was intended to be dreamlike, much like the feeling one derives from Key West when here.
Bordeaux... Plus Raw Footage
I shot this video on my recent trip to Bordeaux France. I edited the film on my way back during a 9 hour flight from Amsterdam to Atlanta. Shot on Canon 5D mark III plus a Mavic Pro, maybe a gopro shot here and there. The music is Shakey Graves - Family and Genus. Such a great song.
My best friends in the whole world, Elliot and Kim, they live in Maine, suggested me to their friends who were getting married in Bordeaux. As soon as I got the call I took the job. This is the result :)
I didn't have time to edit this into a well polished, finished result, but the more I looked at it in its current form, the more I realized it was maybe more enjoyable to look at it this way. I think it would have helped me a lot early in my career to see some of the raw footage of the videographers who's work I followed. Sometimes I'd get a piece here and there and I remember how cool I thought that was. I think that's what led to me leaving this video the way it is.... well, that and the fact that I've got a handfull of paying clients waiting on me to deliver their work as well. I'd better get on that. Cheers Bordeaux. I can't wait to come see you again someday. A votre santé!
